The Professional Finish Wire to LIROS Rope Halyard from Jimmy Green:
6mm 7 x 19 Stainless Steel wire spliced into 12mm LIROS Braid on Braid Bright White Polyester with a Talurit Thimble Eye Splice for attaching to the headboard of the sail and a whipping to finish off the rope end.
Ideally the wire should not quite reach the halyard winch because if the wire goes around the winch under load it will eventually take up the same shape as the drum.
N.B. The length of the wire should include the wire inside the wire to rope splice. The wire to rope splice is 75cm long.
Your finished rope length (right hand end) will be measured from the end of the wire i.e. we will allow for the rope in the splice.
The coloured ball on the talurit splice will be the same as the colour coding on the rope.
The halyard is finished with a whipping on the other end.
The whipping twine colour will match the colour code you have selected Add an End Fitting to your basket or even send your own snapshackle and we will fit it onto the Talurit Thimble Eye Splice.
