Anchor connectors provide a smooth connection between your anchor chain and your anchor. If you prefer your anchor connector to swivel then an articulating connector is best for fixed shank anchors whilst straight connectors are suitable for articulating shanks. It is usually best to use similar metals throughout your system e.g. galvanised anchor, galvanised connector and galvanised chain. This is due to the accelerated corrosion caused by electrolysis that occurs when dissimilar metals are in contact with one another in salt water. If you decide to use dissimilar metals then we advise that the fittings are checked and replaced regularly (cutting the last link off your chain seasonally is also recomended).
